Week 4: A steep learning curve

I missed the last 570 class because I was sick and I have been wrestling with the database on my own. Finally, I got it together, figured out how to convert it to an RTF and posted it. I don't know if I selected the best things for the database, but I MADE A DATABASE! Whew! It feels very satisfying to learn something new and then blog about it! I was amazed at all the amazing assistive technology that is available. I have to remember that AT is not just high tech, or even medium tech. It is anything that allows people of differing abilities equity and access. It could be Post-It notes! I want to play around with Inspiration software more. My school has it and it looks like it could be really great for some students. I made an appointment to visit with one of the Special Ed. teachers to find out more about what is available on my campus. I also want to talk to the adaptive PE teacher if possible. Lifelong learning indeed.
