Library Thing: Web 2.0 Award Winner

http://www.librarything.com/Uh oh. I started exploring Library Thing, one of the Web 2.0 award winners and I have lost track of time. This is an extremely cool site. It is easy to join. It allows for different levels of involvement. My email is kept private. It also allows different ways to compile book lists. There is a social component available or it can be a solo endeavor. Anyone can join for free. (There is a pay option that offers more). Free, Library Thing offers writing opportunities, interesting stats, awesome text clouds, a gallery of authors, and you can link it to your blog or website. It has a widget. Students and teachers can create libraries, write reviews, chat about and recommend titles. So far, I have not found one single thing I dislike about it. I was already familiar with Shelfari and Goodreads and I like this way better. It seems to do more things, although, admittedly, I have not spent as much time on the other two sites. I started adding titles and organizing them by genre, classes I use them in and favorites. It is a lot of fun, helpful and another thing that will suck up my time like a sponge.
