  • I continued "reading" the shelves today-still in the 900s. I worked with service workers who have serious deficiencies in their understanding of the number line and decimal points! The difference between .1 and .01 did not seem to concern them too much. I think a basic math lesson is needed! Or at least a cheat sheet to help them in the stacks. Again, many service workers were absent due to prom preparations.
  • I found some tagging on the shelves and tried to remove it to no avail. I requested some special cleaner from the plan manager but he said it might have to be sanded off. Yikes! It is also interesting what one finds stashed in the shelves. I found hall passes, love/hate notes, homework, pamphlets, and book pages with security tags ripped out, so as to facilitate the theft of said book. Then I had to remove the book from the data base.
  • Shelved, shelved, and shelved some more. I wish kids would read the signs that say, " Place books here for re-shelving!" It is kind of a pain when then just stick them back anywhere.
  • It was fun selecting books for the endcap displays.
  • I continued creating my purchase order that I began a couple of days ago. Finding books in Spanish at many different levels is challenging.
  • I continued researching how other TLs handle service workers.
